Connecticut artists Valerie Ruby-Omen and Patrick Scalisi will discuss their new local history book, Connecticut Cryptids: a Field Guide to the Weird and Wonderful Creatures of the Nutmeg State, at the Beekley. Cryptids flourish in the public mind. There are plenty of mysterious stories in Connecticut. You’ve probably heard about the Winsted Wildman of Winchester and Barkhamsted or the Black Dog of the Hanging Hills near Meriden. These, however, are but a handful of the legendary animals that inhabit Connecticut. It will be possible to buy and sign copies of Pat and Val’s book. Walk-ins are allowed, but registration is encouraged.
